Poem

I called this 'Poem' for want of a descriptive title. The wood is red oak, 3/16" thick. It is in a frame with a black matt.

Gerry

Gerry organized our golf leage and I made this as a gift at the end of the season. 1/8" Baltic Birtch ply.

Rene

Rene assisted Gerry in organizing and running.our golf league.

Bob

Bob also helped to organize the golf league - He collected and awarded the money prizes...

Brian

Brian is the fourth (and last) member of the golf league organizers

Miniature Birds

I like the challenge of doing miniature acroll projects. This piece was cut out of 1/8" walnut. I used a #8 blade that I purchased from a jewellry making supply company - Gesswein.

The two $0.25 coins (one Canadian, on US) are to provide a sense of scale.

The Lovers

Another miniature done in 1/8" walnut

Old Fashioned Train

This is the third and final miniature cut out. It was quite a challenge to get all the small pieces cut out. Those #8 blades are really great.

Old Fashioned Train

This is a close up of a portion of the train project. The Canadian $0.25 coin is for reference

My Niece

I also ventured into Intarsia and did this portrait of my niece. Finished size is 8" X 10" and it is all cut from western red cedar.

Dragon & Pheonix

Another intarsia piece of a butterfly. It is about 12"W X 10"H and also made of western red cedar.

Poor Teddy Bear

This little guy started out as a piece of clip aret and became a piece of intarsio. We like to think he is a victim of a skiing accident. All western red cedar with poplar for the white areas.

Canada Geese

This started out as a stain glass pattern but I thought it would look good in wood. Western red cedar and paoplar. About 16" square

Harry Potter

My granddaughter is a big fan of Harry so I made this for her. To see the steps of the making of this piece CLICK HERE
