Carving the Primary Inserts

When making the inserts, I took care to get a round shape from side to side.
I then outlined the feathers with a burner and removed material so the feathers were
"stepped."

Note the feathers have a rippled effect along the edge. This gives the
feathers a nice effect when painted.
