Breast Feather Layout

I start laying out the breast feathers by drawing flow lines from the neck area.
(The number 1. points to two of the lines) These lines are close together at the neck
(smaller feathers) and wider as they disappear under the carving or back towards the rear.

The feathers on the breast are very soft and rounded. Curved lines, representing the tops
of the breast feathers are drawn "roughly" between the lines. I try not to make definite
rows of feathers by offsetting some of the curved lines and have the feathers increase in size as I work.
