This view shows the covert feathers looking from the neck to the tail. While it looks soft, there
does not appear to be anything special.
This view, looking from the rear side back towards the nect area, shows the rounded shape
of some of the feathers and how some of them are slightly relieved around the edges.

While not very clear in this picture, the edge of the feather (at arrow) needs a slight relief from
the one below. The pyro pen, on its edge is used to accomplish the relief.
Just the tip of the burning pen is used. It is turned on its side and pushed under the edge of the
feather along the length of the area to be relieved.
The feather is relieved in this picture (the feather casts a shadow.
You can see from this view that the covert feathers are loose (the bird is resting)
This type of detail will add interest for people viewing the carving.
